The Norfolk & Norwich Association for The Blind
West Norfolk Driver Volunteers
Drivers Required in West Norfolk
Our volunteer drivers escort our clients to events, activities or sessions and hospital appointments. We would like our volunteers to help directly and indirectly enable blind and partially-sighted people to enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.
We are currently recruiting drivers in:
- Kings Lynn
- Downham Market
Our drivers play an essential role in providing client care and we are always seeking new volunteers. A simple trip to the shops or a routine appointment at the doctors can be complicated, if not impossible, for some people without the support of a volunteer driver.
You can be involved as much or as little as you can manage and there are lots of other opportunities for you to join us for other events or volunteering roles in the area if they interest you.
Our volunteer drivers escort our clients to events, hospital appointments, activities or sessions, which we need volunteers to help with.
We are looking for confident drivers to transport our clients. Volunteers need access to their own vehicle and hold a full clean driving licence.
• Visual Awareness Training
• Regular, ongoing advice and support from the NNAB
• Payment of out of pocket expenses agreed in advance
Becoming a volunteer driver gives you the chance to work with a variety of different people from different walks of life and make a real difference to their lives.
