Volunteer

The NNAB has a wonderful team of some 300 volunteers, providing visiting services, advice and support in the community. Our volunteers are a crucial mainstay of our help in the community. There are so many ways you can help:

  • Helping in our charity shop
  • Sports and leisure activities
  • Eye clinic information advisors
  • Driving
  • Fundraising
  • Equipment and information centres
  • Escorting and guiding
  • Administration
  • Special events

We will train you and give you all the support you require to make volunteering with us a mutually happy and successful experience.

Our Visual Awareness Training Day will:

  • Increase your confidence when working with visually impaired people
  • Develop practical skills such as guiding, communicating and handling difficult situations
  • To inform volunteers on tthe aims of the Association and the services offered to blind and partially sighted people

The training days will be held in the Bradbury Activity Centre on the following Wednesdays:
