The Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind (NNAB) celebrated its 200th Anniversary in 2005.

Throughout the County it helps 20,000 people with poor sight. Last year its community workers made nearly 8000 separate visits to individuals in their homes and over 4000 people visited the six equipment centres in Norwich, King's Lynn, Great Yarmouth, Cromer, Diss and the Mobile.

In Norwich it has a residential home and 20 sheltered flats as well as a volunteer presence in all four hospital eye clinics in the County. Over 250 active volunteers are an essential part of the organisation.

It receives no state funding, relying entirely on legacies and donations.

Royal Norfolk Show 2008

The Association had a very successful Show this year with

105 people visiting the Mobile Equipment Centre over

the two days.  In particular we were honoured to receive a

special visit from Lady Dannant, wife of the Royal Norfolk

interest in the work we carry out in Norfolk.
