Some flats have individual gardens which gives tenants that extra ability to imprint your own personality on your home.
Security
Our wardens take a keen interest in the general welfare of the tenants and with CCTV and door entry system on our site you have the confidence of Òfeeling safeÓ. The wardens visit each tenant everyday.
Independent Living
When one has sight difficulties some aspects of life can be difficult but with Hammond Court you can still retain your independence secure in the knowledge that wardens and even more specialist help is but a push button or telephone call away.
With Thomas Tawell House (our residential home) next door, there is every opportunity to make friends, join classes for computing, keep fit, craft or simply continue life as before but with the peace of mind and security of knowing that others are close by to help if needed.
General Recreation
A lively social programme is pursued and activities include crafts, games and musical entertainment as well as regular outings for general enjoyment in our own mini bus.
Whilst we strive to ensure a full programme of activities, there are of course our large delightful gardens with mature trees, landscaped flower beds and in the summer months our scented roses, to be enjoyed on lazy, restful afternoons.
Christian Worship
A Chaplain visits whenever requested. He also celebrates Holy Communion every month.
Library and Equipment Centre
As we are specialists in the care of people with poor sight we have a well stocked library of recorded books, shows and music to suit all tastes as well as an internet cafe.
