NEW Fundraising Groups!

Do you have great Fundraising ideas, but are unsure of how to get them up and running? Do you want to help the NNAB with your brainpower? Are you enthusiastic about fundraising and the NNAB?

If so WE NEED YOU!

Join our new Fundraising Committee and help the NNAB raise money in the area where you live.

The NNAB wants to branch out acoss the county for fundraising ideas and set up a fundraising committee with smaller fundraising groups based around Norfolk. For example, if you live in Great Yarmouth, then the money you and your team raise in Great Yarmouth will go to help run the Equipment Centre there - so not only will we be proud to say that the NNAB raises money in Norfolk to be spent in Norfolk, but we can say, the money raised by the Great Yarmouth Fundraising Group has raised £'s for the Great Yarmouth area! This means that when you help the NNAB, you will actually be helping your local community!

You can see Your Ideas and the Money Raised Helping Your Local Area!

Don't worry if you've never done any fundraising before - all ideas count and two heads are better than one and thirty or forty heads are definitely better!!

What we mean by fundraising aren't just the climbing Mount Everest and garden openings for the NNAB (but they're great too!). Your ideas don't have to be adrenaline fuelled or difficult to organise! We would like to have a variety of fundraising clubs meeting up for Coffee Mornings, Book Clubs and Knit 'N' Natters, alongside one off events. Of course, if you want to organise larger events, you have our full support - but you need to remember that

Every bit of Fundraising helps!

We want the fundraising at the NNAB to reflect how you want us to fundraise! You can have your say and see your ideas come to liife and benefit the NNAB.

If you want to help Fundraise for your local area, be part of the Fundraising Committee and/or a Fundraising Group or just have some ideas that you think we should look into, get in touch!

Get Involved and Help the NNAB Help Your Local Area!

Recent Fundraising - THANK YOU!!

We would like to say a big thank you to the Horsford Coffee Group who have raised a staggering £400 to buy digital magnifiers for our equipment centre's loan stock - so THANK YOU!!

Our Valuation Day at Salle Village Hall was held on Friday 25th April and was a great success! The evening raised £151 altogether and everyone had a very interesting and enjoyable evening. NNAB would like to thank Paul Goodley and Andrew Bullock of Keys of Aylsham for their time and help with this fundraiser Thank You!

The Somerleyton Walk (organised by Great Yarmouth Rotary Club) and the Secret Norwich Trail (hosted by Norwich Marchesi) were a great success. If you took part in either of these events - Thank You! Also, remember to collect in your sponsorship money and return it to the organisers asap! More details on each of these events will follow...!

Newmarket Countryside Race Day took place over the last Bank Holiday weekend in May and we had two very different days; beautiful sunshine and a very wet Sunday - this didn't seem to put off the race goers though and the main day (the 25th) was a great day with lots of visits to the NNABs marquees. The Main auction raised £38,000 with the Silent auction making £12,000 from which NNAB will receive a share! The totals the guest charities (NNAB and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf) will receive has yet to be calculated but watch this space for the grand total!!

We Are Calling on YOU!

Help the NNAB and the Environment by recycling your old, used mobile handsets and Ink Cartridges!

By donating your old mobile phones and used ink cartridges you can help the NNAB and help us to improve our services to the people in Norfolk. Just drop your old mobile phone or used ink cartridge into our Charity Shop on Magdalen Street, into the NNAB on Magpie Road, Norwich or into your local NNAB Equipment & Information Centre.

So far £740 has been raised from recycling old mobile phones, so keep bringing those phones in and start keeping those used cartridges!!

The ink cartridge scheme was new in January 2008 and already we have raised £121.33! This is only possible with your support so please keep up the good work! The cartridges can also be sent directly to the freepost address below:

Activity Centre Appeal

June 2008

Following the grant from the Bradbury Foundation of £350,000, a grant of £20,000 from the Norwich Town Close Estate Charity and £20,000 from another grant-giving Trust, in addition to numerous donations from other Trusts and individuals, our total now stands at £1,260,405 which is fantastic.  We're getting there!

As well as making approaches to other Trusts, we have just started a leaflet drop and plan to organise a "Buy a Brick" campaign - watch this space for details!

See the "News" page for up-dates on the development.
