SUPPORT WORKER FOR EQUIPMENT & INFORMATION ADVISOR

The Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind (NNAB) is recruiting a Support Worker for Edward, a totally blind member of staff.

Edward is an Equipment & Information Centres Adviser based in the Norwich Equipment Centre.  His role, and in turn the role of the Support Worker, is very varied and rewarding and can range from advising visually impaired clients on technology and daily living aids through attending access meetings and giving talks to local groups to assisting with the day-to-day running of the various Equipment Centres.

The Support Worker will need to be organised, a car owner (essential) and have an outgoing personality, a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn. These attributes are more important than experience as full training will be given. This is a role that is flexible and will change in the light of future developments in the world of visual impairment.

This is a full time role at 35 hours a week, occasional evening work will be required with time in lieu. This Support Worker post is funded by the government Access to Work scheme. Current funding has been agreed until November 2019.

A full job description is attached for your information.

Salary: £7.90 per hour.
