The Mobile Equipment and Information Centre 

During the winter months our new 'Roving Eye Service', replaces the Mobile. 

Richard and the landrover will be travelling out and about around the county again this winter, providing an information and advice service .

He is happy to  visit Clubs for Visually Impaired people, Residential Homes and Sheltered Dwelling Complexes, demonstrating the latest technology in the warmth of their surroundings.

The New Harleston Sight Information Point

We are very pleased to announce that our new Harleston Information Point has opened at The Harleston Information Centre, 8 Exchange Street, Harleston. We are there every Wednesday morning between 10am and 12noon and would be delighted to see visitors who wish to call in for advice and information. We hope this will assist anyone in that area who has queries regarding sight loss. No appointments are needed, just call in, you will be made very welcome.

At The Norwich Equipment Centre we have the following new products on display.

A new CCTV from Optima, the VideoMatic LUX: price £1995 and an adjustable table/trolley with sloping footrest especially made for a CCTV; price £199 

The New Acrobat LCD from Enhanced Vision Services - a CCTV with a 'small footprint'. It has a 3-in-1 camera which allows for self-viewing, distance viewing and near viewing. It magnifies up to 72 times and is suitable for a variety of tasks including: crafts, reading, writing, hobbies, viewing objects far away, also helps in shaving and personal grooming.    Price £1995, an adjustable trolley is a further £120. It is well worth coming to see it. 

Easy-to see electronic kitchen scale: price £19.95 

The CleaReader from Optelec - an easy-to-use audio text reading machine designed for the benefit of visually impaired people: price £1695 

We are selling very good quality lens cleaning cloths for glasses, cameras, etc. They are printed with NNAB details and in see through plastic cases, ideal for pocket or handbag. At £1 each with 50p of each sale going to NNAB they are very good value and make excellents gifts to post in greetings cards.  Available from all Equipment Centres.

Computer Software 

Guide, an all-in-one Speech and Magnification Software Package has been installed on a computer in the Norwich Equipment Centre.  It is marketed as "Easy-to Use and Easy-to-learn".

We also have an RNIB Home Access Desktop Computer with Mercury Software on display. This computer has been designed for a home user who is blind or partially sighted, it has pre-installed speech and magnification software

 If you wish for a demonstration of either machine please call and book an appointment.

Special Events

The Cromer Equipment and Information Centre in The Cottage, 8. Louden Road

There is a Coffee Morning at the Centre from 10am-12noon on the first Tuesday of each month.

Please come along and see us, have a chat, find out about new equipment and update yourself on any new developments at NNAB. A warm welcome awaits.

A Children's Fun and information Day   was held on June 21st at The Equipment Centre Magpie Road 10am-2pm.

It was a great day spent together, thank you to all

who attended, families, friends and everyone who

entered into the spirit of the day. Danger Boy and

Community Music East were great fun!

We were very pleased that the Lord Mayor Councillor Jeremy Hooke was able to visit us during the day. 

A Residential Learning Holiday at The Virginia Court Hotel in Cromer October 28th -30th 2008 

This mini-break will include sessions on various aspects of sight loss designed to help visually impaired people and their partners or carers who wish to learn more about life as a VIP. Meals are included and an evening with local entertainment. The total cost is £165 per person.
